Streamlined Independence
We operate a streamlined, unstaffed arrival process. Just as you would experience when arriving at a five-star self-catering holiday cottage and accessing your keys via a secure box, our system gives you total privacy and independence. Our front door is already digital, and we are transitioning to a fully automated system to drive your costs down even further. By eliminating the heavy overheads of a traditional, continuously staffed reception desk, we pass those financial savings directly onto you.
Uncompromised Safety and Support
Stripping back costs absolutely never means compromising on safety, security, or efficiency. To keep your room rates low, we prioritize remote support as much as possible. However, the property is fully supported 24 hours a day. Should an emergency or an issue requiring physical input arise, our on-call, in-person response is often significantly quicker than what most standard hotels can provide. Furthermore, we operate a strict digital-only booking policy to maximize guest safety. We do not accept cash payments or unverified walk-ins off the street. All reservations require a Visa or Mastercard and our standard security deposit, which verifies the identity and registered address of every guest. We make absolutely no exceptions to this rule, ensuring a highly secure environment and peace of mind that standard open-door hotels simply cannot match.
A Fairer Financial Model
We realized long ago that the traditional hotel system is flawed. We utilize a model where guests pay a standard security deposit and are encouraged to leave the rooms as they found them. Most traditional hotels automatically inflate their base rates to cover the small minority of guests who leave their rooms in a complete mess. AreaWest excludes these hidden buffers. We do not believe the respectful majority should ever have to subsidize the minority.
Protecting Finite Resources
Our ethos is simple: we protect the environment by using less of our planet's finite resources. Take towels, for example. Many guests prefer to travel with their own, yet standard hotels force everyone to pay for towel usage in the room price. By removing these mandatory costs, we give you the freedom to choose, preventing unnecessary waste.
Total Flexibility and Comfort
Choosing a sustainable option does not mean you have to go without. If you want a bit of luxury or simply prefer not to do any tidying during your holiday, those comforts can easily be added on. You do not have to feel obligated to clean if you prefer not to. Even if you leave the room thoroughly used, reasonable cleaning usually costs no more than £5 and will never exceed a £10 maximum. We give you the complete flexibility to build exactly the stay you want.
Our Horizon: The Member-Owned Club and IPO
Our long-term roadmap targets an Initial Public Offering (IPO), transforming AreaWest into a community-owned network of homes away from home across prime locations. The very customers who fund these properties should have a voice in their future.
Through our upcoming annual club membership, you will eventually have the opportunity to become a shareholder. Vetted members will attain trusted status, permanently waiving security deposits. Because our community contributes to keeping costs low, shareholders will have a deciding role in how new properties are acquired and configured. Retained profits are then systematically reinvested directly into property improvements, ensuring every location is modern, efficient, and sustained by the people who value it most.
